So where have I been?! Well not long after we got back from New York it was time to start packing, as we have just moved into the most beautiful new old house. It is actually belongs to my Aunty, and my cousin has been living here for some time. As she has just bought a new house with her partner and Nick and I were looking for somewhere with a little more space, this has all worked out really well. I spent a lot of time here growing up so the house is already full of wonderful memories, and not only do I have a huge new sewing studio, I also have an office. Going from what was basically the hallway between the living room and kitchen - to this amazing space - pretty much leaves me speechless.
I started taking a few little snapshots as I started decorating but I will definitely be sharing a lot more of the house and all my collections in the future. The best thing about having all this space is that I can actually get to all my things. In the old flat everything was in cupboards or piled high on shelves, and now I can easily get my magazines, books, movies and all sorts of other things. I feel so much more inspired, and excited to share all the trinkets I have collected over the years. Instead of just re-posting other peoples work I really hope to put more energy to creating my own, be it photographs, sewing, drawings, or scans of my old magazines.
We have also been without the internet for 9 (very long) days, so I've had some time to ponder what I want to do with this blog, with the Tumblrs, and with Hopeless. I feel like I have a clearer vision of my future and my business, so all these technical difficulties have turned out to be a blessing in disguise.
In just over a week I am heading to Indonesia to meet with some small specialty lingerie production houses to talk about helping me expand my business. I am of course incredibly excited about this adventure, which will mean that I can spend more time doing what I love - which is designing, talking to customers and all the social media and promotions. I wish I could keep sewing everything myself but I can only sew so many things in a day, and working 10 hour days 7 days a week is getting a bit much!
